6 Movies I’m Dying to See

So I’m sure I’m not the only one’s been not so patiently waiting for Mockingjay to come out. We have tickets to see it Sunday, and I can’t wait! In thinking of how it always seems like the movies you want to see will never come out, I started thinking of other films I’m looking forward to. Here are 6 more movies I’m dying to see!

1. Big Eyes – Amy Adams and Christopher Waltz? Directed by Tim Burton? Set in San Francisco? Sold.

2. Serena – This book has been on my to-read list for quite some time, and with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper together again, I can’t wait to see the movie, too!

3. Pitch Perfect 2 – The first Pitch Perfect is one I never saw in theaters, but once I did finally see it, I fell in love. Though silly at times, it’s.just.so.funny. Rebel Wilson is just the best.

4. Into the Woods – I’m going to be honest and admit that I don’t know much about this musical, but once I saw the cast and the trailer, plus the fact it’s a Stephen Sondheim musical (Sweeney Todd), it became a must see for me.

5. Insurgent – I loved reading the Divergent series more than the Hunger Games, and Insurgent was my favorite of the trilogy, so this is a no brainer.

6. Jurassic World – So little known fact: growing up, I LOVED Jurassic Park. I watched it alllll the time. I still do love it; in fact, whenever I’m flipping through the channels, and it’s on, I stop and watch. Every time. So of course I’m stoked for another movie! Sadly, I couldn’t find an actual trailer yet, but this behind the scenes video is pretty cool.

UPDATE: The trailer came out!!

What movies are you looking forward to? Are you exciting about any of the above mentioned??

Tidbits & Coming Attractions

I didn’t have a particular topic scheduled for today, so I thought I’d drop some tidbits on your as well as give you a sneak peek into what’s on the agenda this weekend.

[[Tidbits]]

1. I added quite a few new items to my Poshmark closet. Some of them I’ve worn on my blog, so if anything strikes your fancy, check out my closet, and feel free to make me an offer!

IMG_90781 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

2. Does anyone watch American Horror Story? I’ve always been a fan, but was sort of let down with last season; however, I am LOVING this new season. I just watched the newest episode last night and had to cover my eyes and ears for a good portion, but I can’t get enough!

american-horror-story-freak-show-ftr (1)source

3. I got my 6th Fix from Stitch Fix today, and I kept two blouses, both from Collective Concepts: The Esten (mine is a gorgeous purple) and the Lydia. Can’t wait to wear them both!

[[Coming Attractions]]

1. We randomly decided to take a day trip to Half Moon Bay tomorrow. We don’t have much of a game plan other than maybe a winery and a brewery. Stay tuned!

2. On Sunday we have plans to drive up to Sonoma with a couple of friends. Again, we don’t have much of a plan. Typically we just pick a spot (Sonoma Country is huge) and then drive to 2-3 wineries close by. I may do a little research before we go, but the spontaneity is one of my favorite parts.

3. I was going to write a personal post about body image today, but I didn’t want to slap it together hastily, so I’ll work on that for next week.  In that post, I was going to bring up that I’m making changes come Monday. Throughout much of late summer/early fall, I was doing so well with eating right and working out hard every day in preparation for my Vegas trip. Then Vegas came and went and so did all my hard work. Now, with the holidays coming up, I just know that it’s only going to get worse, so I figured why not start NOW rather than wait til the New Year? I don’t want to give myself “free passes” to just gorge myself during the holidays. Nope.

photo (3)Seriously, dat cheesecake doe…sooo good!

So, even though I feel a little silly about this, I purchased a meal plan and a fit journal from Blogilates. I’m not sure why I feel so silly; I guess it just feels like something my teen-age self would do, buying a fit journal. Ha. 😛 Though I do get obsessive over documenting things, and I LOVE handwriting things, so it may just be perfect for me! We’ll see! I’ve also decided that instead of doing straight P90X or straight T25 or even following a hybrid calendar, I’m going to write my own plan each week, incorporating the Blogilates monthly calendar as well as my favorite weight lifting exercises and moves from my favorite programs I’ve done in the past. So, what does that mean for QB? Not much. I will definitely be writing about my journey; however, I don’t want inundate everyone with food and exercise talk if that’s not what you’re interested in, so I will most likely be doing weekly update posts. I like this idea for accountability’s sake. I’ll probably post more frequently on Instagram.

So there are some random tidbits from me as well as what to expect in the coming weeks! What about you? What are you up to this weekend? Any suggestions on fun things to do in Half Moon Bay??

Taking Stock 03 // The “I’ve Lived in SF for 6 Months Now!” Edition

I kind of can’t believe we’ve been here for six months already! In that time, we’ve made a small handful of friends, done some touristy stuff, and drank lots and lots of wine. I figured it was about time to take some stock!

Making : excuses for not blogging and/or working. Get it together, girl.
Cooking : a decent amount but not as much as I’d like. Next week, I’m starting this “8 week plan,” (more on that soon!) so I’ll pretty much be doing nothing but cooking.
Drinking : wine, lots of wine. Seriously, “when in Rome” has never rang more true for me than with living in Northern California!
IMG_7296
Reading : not much. I’ve been “reading” We Were Liars for a few weeks now…it’s actually due back to the library, but I keep telling myself I’m going to read it!
Wanting : to do something fun; I just don’t know what! Being vague is my specialty.
Looking : at different life options. It’s like there are too many but not enough at the same time.
Playing : with my little boy!
IMG_8568
Wasting : money, really. On cocktails, coffee, clothes, I don’t need. #YOLO right? (I just bought these but paid for them with money from my Poshmark account, but that doesn’t count right?)
Sewing : still nothing. (Every time I fill this out, I say I’m going to get rid of this one, but I never do.)
Wishing : there were more hours in the day, but mainly only because I sometimes put off work until the end of the evening, or I forget to work out, etc.
Enjoying : all my free time still, but starting to want/need something more with my life. (same as the last time I wrote this in JANUARY!)
Waiting : for noon to roll around because I have a hot coffee date with Lauryn.
Liking : our Halloween costumes this year. Even though we dressed up on a bad night and no one else really appreciated them, still like love!
IMG_8791
Dem eyebrows doe!
IMG_8812
Wondering : if I should chop my hair off, and by chop off, I mean go for a lob.
Loving : that it’s November, and it’s in the 60s/low 70s! AND this view from my apartment!
IMG_7947
Hoping : to go on more exciting adventures, make more friends, see more movies (have I ever talked about how I just genuinely enjoy theater going experiences? I really do!)
Marveling : at a) the Into the Woods trailer I just watched, b) at how hilarious this week’s New Girl episode was ( 1 // 2 ), and c) how sucked in to The Killing I am after only a few episodes. Apparently I don’t marvel at things like natural wonders of the world; I marvel at film and television.
Needing : to go back to Vegas STAT!
IMG_7691
Smelling: a pumpkin spice candle. Duh. #BWG
Wearing : leggings and an oversized striped tee, which is pretty much my uniform these days.
Following : ALL the cute dog Instagrams. My favorites these days are @ThreeLittleBostons, @otisbarkingston, and @callmechowder! (You should probably go ahead and follow @macgyvertheboston while you’re at it!)
Noticing : that I need to get my hair done…my roots are starting to show (real talk!). — Again, keeping this from JANUARY….some things never change!
Knowing : that soon we’ll be traveling home for Christmas already stresses me out, but it puts a little joy in my heart, too. 🙂
Wondering : when in the world I’m going to figure my life out.
Feeling : a little chilly and a little hungry. That calls for shoes and a snack. Easy fix, self.
Bookmarking : lots of info on owning my own domain, changing blog servers, etc. It’s maddening.
Opening : up to new possibilities, people, places, etc. Trying to anyway.
Giggling : at how lazy Macgyver is. I’m always giggling at that guy.
IMG_8722
What are you enjoying, hoping, cooking, feeling, or giggling at right now?  Or better yet, blog your own “Taking Stock” list and link it up below in the comments!

I first saw “Taking Stock” on The Daybook, but the idea originated on Meet Me At Mike’s.

12 Day Blogger Challenge – Day 11: I used to be _____

Just a quick Day 11 here. Yesterday all my time was taken up by creating my budgeting post, so, sadly, #12DayBloggerChallenge got neglected.

<<<I used to be painfully, painfully shy.>>>

photo (2)Instagram // Twitter // Pinterest // Facebook // Bloglovin // Poshmark //YouTube

The truth is, I still am to some extent. But I’m getting better! Growing up, I always had the same core group of friends, but once we all went to college, I pretty much only had my boyfriend at the time to rely on. After a year of really feeling like I had no identity of my own (other than being so-and-so’s girlfriend), the last straw was realizing that I had no one to live with my sophomore year. At my college, freshman year was the year of the dorms and then by the end, you’d met your future apartment roomies. Not for me. I finally made it my mission to meet some friends! I knew that I had to start putting myself out there in order to not continue to feel miserable. So while I wasn’t thrilled that I had to spend another year in the dorms, it ended up not being the worst thing in the world because since I was newly single, I was forced to get to know the girls on my floor and start to make plans. This really helped me start to gradually chip away at my shell. Eventually, by the end of college, I had made some close friends and was working at a restaurant full of cool people, so there was never a shortage of parties and get togethers to attend. I still never really felt like I fit in anywhere, but I did meet a best friend or two out of my whole college experience!

Now, I’m living in a brand new city, and I sort of feel like it’s freshman year of college all over again. Now, I’m married, but just like in college, all my friends seem to stem from Brett. Part of me feels like I’m “so-and-so’s girlfriend wife” again. And while I know that it’s perfectly normal to not know a soul when you move to a new city, let alone across the country, I’m still trying to fight my way out of that shell. Just like in college, I still don’t really fit in anywhere, and even though I’ve met a couple of cool ladies, I still don’t have those “bestie” girlfriend relationships yet. And it’s totally my fault. I could join a gym. I could volunteer somewhere. I could get a “normal” office job. But like a true introvert, I value my alone time. It doesn’t bother me….until it does bother me. If that makes sense. Obviously only time will tell, and ultimately, it’s up to me to keep chipping away at that damn shell.

What about you? What are you working on? What have you conquered? Any other shy sistahs out there?

12 Day Blogger Challenge – Day 10: 10 Randos from my Brain

Today’s post is all about the random thoughts I can muster from my brain.

 IMG_8055Instagram // Twitter // Pinterest // Facebook // Bloglovin // Poshmark //YouTube

1. I’m currently listening to “Shake it Off” by Taylor Swift. What else is new?

2. I’ve been doing some research on moving servers for my blog, but it’s basically making my head swivel. I found this great tutorial, but the pictures are broken. I’m more of a visual learner. Times like this are when having a techy friend (or husband) would come in handy! Any tips??

3. As of right now, 8:49am on Wednesday 10/29, I lack plans for Halloween. If I have to end up dressing up, I have NO idea what I’ll be.

4. Yesterday when I got a manicure, the manicurist basically told me I picked a color that wouldn’t look as good. I disagree, but gee, thanks.

IMG_8600

5. I’ve already started making a mental list of the places we need to visit when we go home for Christmas. On the list so far: Recess/Room Four (where I used to work), Milktooth (owner is the former sous chef at Recess – so excited that his new restaurant is doing well!), Eat + Drink, Patachou, Bakersfield, and more, I’m sure. Will I have enough time to visit all of those places? I’m going to try!

6. Macgyver is the cutest. But we all knew that already.

IMG_8568

7. I won a contest at work, which is weird because I never win anything. I’m redeeming my “prize” today, which is a tour of our warehouse (more exciting than it sounds). I realize I’ve yet to really talk about my job, but I have plans to soon. Promise.

8. I’m not ashamed to admit I wore a “Canadian Tuxedo” for half a day yesterday, and I’m only slightly ashamed to admit that that’s probably exactly what I’ll wear for the tour today, which I have to leave for soon.

9. I have this scarf and this scarf, but if I don’t get this scarf, resulting in the Target scarf trifecta, then I feel like I will be a blogger failure. 😛

IMG_8591

10. I’m been slaaaaaacking on the fitness end. Like hardcore slacking. Tony, Shaun, Cassey, and all the other work out gods would be ashamed.

Indy friends, any other new restaurants I need to try?? Also, can someone please recommend a new song for me to listen to??

12 Day Blogger Challenge – Day 8: One Day I Want to ____ + An Outfit

Here’s another random outfit I found on the camera the other day. Figured I may as well let is have its moment in the (internet) sun. Warning: grainy iPhone photos and pasty legs ahead!

striped bag leopard sandals navy fit and flare

printed scarf cardigan navy dress striped bag

Yet another brunch outfit for you because what else do I do besides blog, work, and brunch? Answer: not much. But you knew that.

Speaking of not doing much on a day to day basis, what a great segue into Day 8 of the 12 Day Blogger Challenge, which is “One day I want to ____.”

This one is kind of hard, which is funny because I wrote it. One day I want to do a lot of stuff, but I guess ultimately, one day I want to feel like I’m doing something meaningful with my life. That includes a job and doing worthwhile things like more traveling of the world. That includes working on something I’m passionate about. That includes getting more involved with volunteering. That includes just waking up every day knowing that I’m making some sort of difference. Now, I know that as a teacher, I was making a difference in students’ lives, but I didn’t really feel like was growing as a person, too. I felt sort of stagnant doing the same thing year after year. That seems sort of selfish, I know. Teachers are amazing individuals, and I just started to feel like sort of a fraud.  It took me awhile to gather the courage to finally realize that doing what other’s perceive as a “noble” job is great (though I hate when people call teaching noble), butt if I’m not 100% happy with what I’m doing, that’s a disservice to not only myself but to my colleagues and students as well. And that’s not fair to anyone. Don’t get my wrong, there’s a chance a few years from now that I may realize how much I truly miss teaching, and I’m completely fine with going back (I DO miss teaching Etymology like woah); I just feel like my current “What am I doing with my life?” stint right now is okay. I’m still young. I still have time (hopefully). San Francisco is also the perfect city for someone like myself who is just trying to figure it out. But one day, one day I hope I figure it out.

What about you? What do you want to do one day? Let me know!

12 Day Blogger Challenge – Day 1: Why Do You Blog + 5 Random Facts

It’s time, guys!

12 day blogger challengeInstagram // Twitter // Pinterest // Facebook // Bloglovin // Poshmark //YouTube

I’ve been promoting the crap out of this challenge, and even though it’s like not like a HUGE thing, to me, it is. I’ve gotten SO excited about blogging again in the past week. I think this is JUST what I needed.

Why Do You Blog?

IMG_8384

I’ve been writing in some capacity since I learned how to carve letters on paper (or even crayons to the wall…oops). I remember writing stories as early as kindergarten, and while other kids at daycare were playing outside, I stayed in to “write books.” I would literally take sheets of paper and staple them into a booklet in order to create the next Great American Novel. You should have read my never-ending series “The Heart Family” (they were a family made of literal hearts); it was quit the page turner.

Naturally, as I got older, English was always my favorite class, and in high school, I discovered my favorite course of all time: creative writing. I even took it twice – one semester for stories and one for poetry/play writing/screenplay writing. Then, I took an incredible CW class in college (that’s a story for another day); there were only about 12-14 of us, and the intimate atmosphere was so comforting. I looked forward to my thrice weekly time in that class. Though perpetually nervous to share my work, I always took great (secret) pride in workshopping my stuff. Sharing my work has always been a love/hate relationship. I get so anxious I want to puke, yet when people read my stuff and connect to it, the feeling is incredible.

It only seemed natural that I would eventually find my way into the world of blogging. I started off with a LiveJournal (I’m dating myself), and from there I would write sad, sad poetry on my MySpace (cringe). Eventually, mid-college, I took the plunge and created my very own blog on Blogger. At this point, I honestly can’t even remember what it was called, and I would write such mundane things like, “Today my boyfriend came over, and we ate Taco Bell.” A real snooze fest, but I was still finding myself, I like to think. About three years ago, I finally decided that I wanted to try my hand at style blogging by posting my outfits. I created a blog on Blogger called “A Miscellaneous Life.” It wasn’t terrible; I just wasn’t consistent (shocker), and eventually it languished. Around the time I was thinking of starting this blog (Sept 2012), I decided that I wanted to try WordPress, and since I’m not so tech savvy, I didn’t know how or if I could transfer AML to WordPress, so I jut decided to start from scratch: platform, name, everything. I finally had my own own little corner of the internet. A place where I could write whatever I wanted. As a teacher, I certainly got to impart my love of writing on youngsters, but I never quite felt like I was fully able to do it my own way. I certainly took some risks, and looking back, sometimes I can’t believe the proverbial balls I had to share some of the stuff I did (not that any of it was really bad, to be honest…however, I did make them act out a screenplay I wrote in high school that won Best Comedy. I’m the nerdy version of the dad who was a high school football star and just can’t let it go), but I have no regrets. With my personal blog, I don’t have to worry about what I share.

So like most bloggers I suppose, I started my blog for myself really, and if I got some followers, then great. I will say that QB is the first blog I’ve ever actively promoted and tried to make blog friends with. When I had my college blog, I barely even read blogs, so I had no allies in the blogging world, and had zero idea what I was doing. Now, I still barely have any idea what I’m doing, but I’ve made so many great connections through blogging. My favorite parts of blogging are obviously my own writing outlet, but as I said the other day, also the community. The blogging world is full of amazing people, and the style/fashion/lifestyle niche especially has the most fabulous ladies with whom I adore interacting. I love participating in challenges with other bloggers, reading everyone’s beautiful prose, seeing everyone’s gorgeous photos, and even just commenting. It’s all about the connection for me. As a true introvert, I sincerely appreciate the blogging community. And that, my friends, is why I blog.

Five (5) Random Facts about Moi

IMG_8385

1. I was never paid for. Right after I was born, my dad waited in line to pay the hospital bill. The line was incredibly long, and he happend to see a window with a sign that said you could leave your information and they would send you a bill in the mail. My dad filled out the card, but my parents never received a bill. When I was younger and my parents would tell me to do something and I refused, my dad would say, “I OWN you.” I’d say, “Nuh uh, I wasn’t paid for.” Consequently, my parents would use this against me, because I was constantly terrified that the Portsmouth Naval Hospital was going to show up one day and take me away.

2. I have no concept of time. Really. With the the exception of getting to work, I can look at a clock and KNOW I have to leave in 20 minutes, but I will dawdle…seriously dawdle. Check my computer, check out my hair, eat, walk around the house, etc. Then I wonder why I’m so late. PS: If I ever say I’m five minutes away, chances are it’s 10-15. I’ve gotten better about this though!

3. Personality wise, I’m Miranda. Fashion wise, I’m Carrie.

4. I’ve only gotten in trouble for cheating once. I was in second grade. It was our first spelling test (at my new school). We did the old school thing where you had to put two folders up in front of your test so no one could look at your paper. I had the genius idea to put the spelling list inside my folder. I wasn’t even necessarily ill-prepared for the test; I think I was just so nervous about doing well on my first test at my new school, that I wanted to make sure that my score would be perfect. However, right after the test started, I felt guilty for cheating and decided to take the list out the folder and put it away. That’s when I got caught. Scandalous, I know.

5. I used to be obsessed with Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals. I mean obsessed. I am the only 5th grader I know who listened to the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack on her walkman or who could do a one-woman rendition of Evita complete with lyrics, musical score, and dance numbers. Super appropriate for a 10-year old to walk around singing songs about a woman sleeping her way to the top. I’m only slightly embarrassed to admit that I still hold this love of musicals in my heart to this day.

Day 1 is in the books! I’m happy to say that forcing myself to write out why I blog has ignited a fire within I feel like I’m being so cheesy, but I’ve been missing blogging and am happy to be back!

12 Day Blogger Challenge

If you read my last post, then you know that I’m in that “itching” stage. Itching for change, for something new. Itching for excitement and adventure. Just itching to do. (Sorry, I didn’t mean to channel Dr. Suess just then, but I’m not mad at it.)

I was intrigued by Girl Meets Life‘s September blogger challenge, and I had every intention of completing this for October; however, October has been moving along quite nicely (as October tends to do), and I have yet to start. “Maybe another blogger will create a challenge for November?” I thought hopefully at the coffee shop the other day. But then it hit me (while I was in the bathroom at said coffee shop, I will admit), why should I wait around for someone else to challenge me? Why am I not challenging myself? I could certainly create my OWN blogging challenge, and I can do it my own way!

Enter….

12 Day Blogger Challenge

So friends, here we are. No waiting for a specific month, and no long term commitments (you know I’m just not that kind of girl). I have created a 12-day blogger challenge with what I’d like to think is a healthy mix of introspective, typical blogger, and just plain silly/fun prompts. I will be starting this on Monday (Oct. 20), but the beauty of this challenge is that you can do it whenever you want! You can follow along with me (the option I hope you’ll take), do it next month, next year, take an entire month to stretch out the prompts, whatever your little heart desires.

Bonus for those who participate along with me: I will be hosting a daily link up so we can all share our prompts / genius with one another as well as share this challenge with your friends! Pin it, Instragram it, tweet it! I’d love to have SO many people join because one of my absolute favorite things about blogging <<SPOILER ALERT FOR MONDAY>> is the community! So here’s to a challenge, and here’s to us. I’m so excited to get back into the blogging game! 🙂

What do you think? Will you be joining me on this super short, yet super fun blogging challenge?

PS: I’d love it if you’d take a couple of minutes to complete my blog survey. I’m going to leave it open a few more days; I’d really appreciate the feedback!

Upward and Onward

Today a flip switched.

If you are were a regular reader, then you may have noticed my hiatus. I don’t want to get into a long sappy thing of it, but I just got to a point where I just didn’t care about blogging anymore. I was in a “What’s the point?” kind of mood. Since I work from home, my OOTDs mostly consist of yoga pants, and when I do get dressed in “normal” clothes, it’s for dinner and it’s too dark for photos. My outfits have been uninspired lately anyway, so you haven’t been missing much. I even stopped reading my favorite blogs. A typical day for me lately consists of breakfast, work, screwing around on social media, work, lunch, maybe workout, work, Netflix binging. Hardly worth bogging, huh?

But the thing is I live in this amazing city. There’s so much to do and see. I really do have blogworthy events. I mean, just a couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed some beverages on a freaking battleship…definitely not something you’d see in Indiana. I’ve just been telling myself my life is boring; and honestly, to some extent it is, but I know I have a story to tell, too.

So yesterday, I randomly pulled up my blog (I hadn’t even been keeping up with my stats) and read through a few months. Truthfully, I like what I have produced. I’ve always been a writer, and this blog is the only writing outlet I’ve had lately, so the fact that I’ve let it languish is disappointing. However, I never set out to be strictly fashion. I’ve always considered my blog to be a “lifestyle style” blog, but somehow, OOTDs posts were just easier. It was much easier to photograph an outfit, write a sassy blurb, and link to outfits rather than trying to branch out and write about anything else. I am by no means saying that fashion blogging is super easy. It’s not; it takes time and dedication, and I thoroughly commend and admire those who do it (most of whom do a much better job than I do!). I’ve just realized that while I do love fashion and sharing styling inspiration with others, that’s not solely what I want this blog to be. I’d like to share more of my life. However, I’m just not sure how to go about doing that.  I’m not sure what I want to share, and, frankly, I’m not sure what YOU want to read.

So, in effort to get my life together, I’ve created a reader survey. I’d really appreciate it if you’d fill this out for me. It’ll take two minutes or less! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! 🙂

What’s in my purse?

If you’re anything like me, your purse tends to be a holding area for all of your…crap. I mean, really. I don’t tend to change my purse out as often as I’d like, so the stuff just piles up. Therefore, when Credit Card Insider asked me to participate in their “What’s in your purse?” campaign, I knew it would be a great excuse to actually clean out my purse and narrow down my 10 must-have items.

Here are the 10 items that I always have with me in my purse, no matter where I go. Sure, I have other go-to’s, like a notebook and pen, bobby pins, ibupofren, etc., but I can live without those things if I had to. These 10 things are crucial.

1. wallet – Obviously a girl needs her wallet: cash, credit cards, and ID are a must. Oh, and my froyo punch card. That’s probably the most important.

2. sunglasses – I can’t stand it when I’m out in the blazing sun and don’t have a pair of sunglasses, so I always have a backup pair in the inside pocket of my purse.

3. mirror – I don’t use a mirror often, but if I have something stuck in my teeth or need to re-apply my lip color, I definitely want a mirror on me. And yes, my compact has pictures of my dog. 🙂 I kind of love this one too because it looks just like Macgyver!

4. tissue – You never know when you’ll need a tissue. Seriously.

5. Band-aid Friction Block Stick – This stuff is magical. Really. If you have new shoes to break in or just a pair that habitually rubs, apply this stuff to the problem areas on your feet and ankles, and you don’t have to worry about blisters. I keep it in my purse because we all have those shoes that start off the day fine, but then start rubbing towards the end of the day. I never want to wish I had it on me.

6. lip balm – I’ll admit it: I’m a lip balm addict. I know it’s supposed to make your dry lips worse, but I don’t care. EOS mint is my current favorite.

7. lip color – I also like to have a lip color on me because sometimes you never know where your day will take you. Plus, it quickly helps you go from tired looking to pulled together if need be. I love Revlon lip butters because they’re light and smooth, but they still pack a mean punch in the pigment department.

8. hand sanitizer – I’m definitely not a germaphobe, but I like to have hand sanitizer in my purse for days that I’m out and about all day and just feel grimy, especially before eating!

9. lint roller – Sometimes my dog makes it impossible to look neat and tidy with his hair all over my clothes. A lot of times I’ll think I get it all, but then when I get to where I need to go, there’s more hair! Travel lint rollers are a lifesaver, especially for someone who likes to wear a lot of black.

10. phone – I mean, who can live without a phone these days? Enough said. (Like my phone case?)

So what’s in your purse? Am I missing anything important? Let me know what your go-to items are!
