6 Movies I’m Dying to See

So I’m sure I’m not the only one’s been not so patiently waiting for Mockingjay to come out. We have tickets to see it Sunday, and I can’t wait! In thinking of how it always seems like the movies you want to see will never come out, I started thinking of other films I’m looking forward to. Here are 6 more movies I’m dying to see!

1. Big Eyes – Amy Adams and Christopher Waltz? Directed by Tim Burton? Set in San Francisco? Sold.

2. Serena – This book has been on my to-read list for quite some time, and with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper together again, I can’t wait to see the movie, too!

3. Pitch Perfect 2 – The first Pitch Perfect is one I never saw in theaters, but once I did finally see it, I fell in love. Though silly at times, it’s.just.so.funny. Rebel Wilson is just the best.

4. Into the Woods – I’m going to be honest and admit that I don’t know much about this musical, but once I saw the cast and the trailer, plus the fact it’s a Stephen Sondheim musical (Sweeney Todd), it became a must see for me.

5. Insurgent – I loved reading the Divergent series more than the Hunger Games, and Insurgent was my favorite of the trilogy, so this is a no brainer.

6. Jurassic World – So little known fact: growing up, I LOVED Jurassic Park. I watched it alllll the time. I still do love it; in fact, whenever I’m flipping through the channels, and it’s on, I stop and watch. Every time. So of course I’m stoked for another movie! Sadly, I couldn’t find an actual trailer yet, but this behind the scenes video is pretty cool.

UPDATE: The trailer came out!!

What movies are you looking forward to? Are you exciting about any of the above mentioned??

Friday Favorites 01 // Army Jacket

They* weren’t kidding when they said the weather in San Francisco can be crazy.

On Tuesday (the day of this outfit), it was warmish during the day, but by nighttime, I was wearing a cardigan sweater and an army jacket at the baseball game we went to. On Wednesday, the weather channel said it was only 66, so I wore jeans, sandals, and a light cardigan. I was sweating by the time I’d walked to Starbucks and back. And then today. Today I figured, “Oh it’s been warm during the day all week…” so I put on a light t-shirt dress, sandals, a light cardigan, and a scarf. As soon I was outside, I noticed everyone was wearing jackets. Let’s just say I was glad I was only running across the street for lunch.

I love my army jacket, but I’m not sure it’s going to cut it when it’s windy here in SF. It’s great by itself when it’s just a tad chilly, but anything colder, and I have to layer it up, which is sort of uncomfortable because it’s not a very roomy jacket. I think I need a jacket that’s just a tad bit heavier. For the rest of the country, you probably aren’t in the market for a jacket (what with it being almost summer and all), but now is the time when off-season styles are on sale! I’ve been wanting an anorak jacket (or something similar), so I’ve been doing some searching today. I haven’t narrowed one down yet, but here are some of my favorites so far – all of them are under $140!

All the Things 02 I Fit & Flare Dress

I’ve been pretty obsessed with my striped fit and flare dress from Target (see here and here), which has recently made me want all the fit and flare dresses. Fit and flare styles are so flattering on virtually every body type, and they’re pretty versatile, too! Consequently, I have spent my morning productively window shopping for the perfect new fit and flare dress.

Modcloth Polyvore Challenge: A Rainy Day Rendezvous Ensemble

I was super excited when Modcloth asked me to join in on their weekly Polyvore challenge!  This week’s piece is the beautiful Rainy Day Rendezvous dresswhich has just the touch of vintage flair I love and comes in all sizes!  I decided to take the “rainy day” concept and run with it by creating an ensemble that’s not going to let the weather keep me down.  Oftentimes when it’s wet and gloomy outside, I just want to throw on leggings and boots and call it a day, but why should the rain win?  I paired this gorgeous dress with funky prints and pops of color to show Mother Nature who’s boss.  Here’s a little secret though: the super cute umbrella I added is currently out of stock, but let Modcloth know that you want it, and if the demand is high enough, they’ll reorder!
Be sure to check out Modcloth on Monday, March 10 for the winner of this week’s challenge and really just to spiff up your life in general. I mean, how could you pass up thisthis, or this?? Or this dress that I actually just ordered myself a few weeks ago?

Modcloth Rainy Day Rendezvous Ensemble

The Fine Print: I was in no way compensated for this post; I am simply entering a challenge in order to my have my ensemble featured on Modcloth. All choices and opinions are my own. I am not a robot.

Life Goals

Some girls are born list-makers, and some girls wish they were.  I am of the latter.  I try to make to-do lists (and sometimes lists OF to-do lists), but I typically never follow through.  In the spirit of CHANGE, I have sat down and made a list of goals I have for my blog and for the near future.  If I put it on the interweb, it HAS to happen, right??

In no particular order…

1. Time for the blog layout to get a face lift.

2. Create a regular schedule for posts.  Not necessarily a theme each day, per se, but a more routine of the kinds of posts I want.  I feel like right now my blog is sort of random, and that I have moved from a fashion blog to a lifestyle blog, which I am okay with.

3. Create a weekly cleaning schedule for the house, sort of like this or this.  I hate the thought of being a “housewife,” but with my free time, there really will be no excuse not to have a clean house.

4. Work on the various sewing projects I want to do (and blog about them, of course).  Possibly take more sewing classes.

5. Continue my photography class I’m taking and continue to create better pictures.

6. Continue taking pop-up art classes.

7. Begin researching prospective grad schools and masters programs (I currently have no idea which direction I’d like to go).

8. Possibly look for an easy second job, if I find I can’t get enough hours at my restaurant job (although I should be able to).

9. Read! Lots of books!

10. Start writing (non-blog) again!

I’m sure I have more, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.  This weekend I will be away, meeting my friend Archana, from Awkward Curry, in LA!  We have A LOT of fun things planned, so I should have an awesome wrap-up post up here when I return.
